Reach the show’s target audience of Ugandan youth to engage them in discussions about sexual and reproductive health.

Solutions

  • Target youth audience in Kampala through social media by creating engaging content, hyping and reminding people to watch the show, and managing ad buys on platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat.
  • Coordinate social media influencers across various digital platforms who can generate discussions about the show through written posts, images, videos and live chat sessions.
  • Engage local media to cover the show.
  • Push the hashtag #ChickenAndChipsOnNTV in coordination with the broadcaster, digital influencers, stars of the show and people online who are watching.

Results

  • Generated conversations about sexual and reproductive health among young Ugandans online across platforms including: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat and WhatsApp groups.
  • Grew the official social media platforms, on Facebook attracting 10,000+ fans and reaching a page audience in the hundreds of thousands.
  • After-broadcast video chat sessions among influencers produced lively conversations the in replies and received thousands of views.
  • Placed feature stories across several blogs targeting young Ugandans.
