Your Music, Your Voice

Client: Goethe-Zentrum Kampala

Project Brief

Effectively communicate the ‘Your Music, Your Voice’ activities – a panel discussion about arts and activism, studio collaboration of socially conscious artists from across Africa, and a public concert –, to amplify the impact and manage coverage through online and offline media, and assist in coordination of activities.

Solutions

  • Generate mainstream media coverage through press briefings and hosting journalists, placing feature stories, arranging interviews and radio mentions.
  • Manage official social media accounts by developing an engaging content calendar, producing photography and coordinating digital influencers to amplify the project’s share of voice.
  • Develop careful but captivating stories about the value of the activities and the mandate of the organizers.
  • Support the effective coordination of artists, media, music studio and other stakeholders.

Results

  • The client’s social media presence exploded, with engagement and URL click-throughs both increasing over 3,000%, while the concert and panel discussion hashtags were seen ~20 million times.
  • Dozens of stories were published about the event in Ugandan, Africa-wide and international media, and the participating artists and event coordinators appeared for several on-air interviews.
  • Attendance was strong at both the concert and panel discussion, and two collaborative songs were produced and released by visiting artists.
